Kamalika Chaudhuri

Kamalika Chaudhuri is a machine learning researcher whose work covers AI privacy, security and alignment. She earned a PhD in computer science at UC Berkeley in 2007, joined the CSE department at UC San Diego as an assistant professor in 2010, and received a Hellman Faculty Fellowship in 2012 and an NSF CAREER Award in 2013. Chaudhuri was program chair of ICML 2019, became Board President of the ICML Foundation in July 2025, and coauthored "How much can language models memorize?", which received an Outstanding Paper Honorable Mention at ICML in 2026. She built and led a FAIR research team at Meta on AI privacy, security, and reliability before moving to Google. She is a Principal Scientist at Google DeepMind, where she leads a team on prompt injections and contextual security.
