Amit Sheth
Amit Sheth researches semantics, knowledge-based computing and the integration of information from different sources. Sheth founded or cofounded a semantic-search company in 1999 as part of his technology-transfer work. AAAI elected him a Fellow in 2018. He moved from Wright State to South Carolina in 2019 and became the founding director of its interdisciplinary AI institute. In 2023, Sheth received the W. Wallace McDowell Award and his team worked on knowledge-enhanced learning in health care. The research connects explicit domain knowledge with data-driven AI methods.
