David Cournapeau
David Cournapeau is best known as the original author of scikit-learn, an open-source machine learning library for Python. His education included an MSc in electrical engineering from Telecom ParisTech in 2004 and a PhD in speech recognition at Kyoto University. Starting in 2006, he became a regular NumPy contributor and later served as release manager for NumPy and SciPy. Before joining Cogent Labs in August 2017 as head of its machine learning engineering team, he worked at Silveregg and then at Enthought, a scientific consulting company. Today he is an engineering manager in applied science at Amazon.
