Albert Bifet
Albert Bifet is an AI researcher whose work helps machine-learning systems learn from changing data streams. His 2009 thesis examines adaptive learning and mining for data streams, and he coauthors MOA, a framework for online learning, in 2010. He joins Télécom Paris in 2015, coauthors an MIT Press book on stream learning in 2018, and directs Waikato’s AI Institute at its 2021 launch. Engineering New Zealand elects him a Fellow in 2024, and he leads stream-learning research at FinAI-Lab in 2025. As of October 2026, he is a research professor and director of Waikato’s AI Institute, and co-scientific director of FinAI-Lab at Télécom Paris.
