Lei Chen
Also known as 陈雷
Lei Chen works on data management for AI, including spatial crowdsourcing and data preparation for deep learning. He joined HKUST in 2005 and took part in establishing HKUST(GZ) in 2019. His 2015 preprint proposed worker-task assignment methods, and he received the SIGMOD Test-of-Time Award in 2015. ACM named him a Fellow in 2024 for contributions to spatial data management, spatial crowdsourcing, and deep-learning frameworks. As of October 2026, he is Dean of the Information Hub and a Chair Professor at HKUST(GZ).
