Daniel Gildea
Daniel Gildea is a professor of computer science whose research spans semantic parsing, language understanding, and machine translation. He earned a BA and PhD at UC Berkeley, worked in software and at the International Computer Science Institute, and joined Rochester's faculty in 2003. His work included the 2000 automatic semantic-role labeling paper with Daniel Jurafsky, the 2005 Proposition Bank article, a 2010 book on semantic role labeling, and 2022 papers on AMR parsing and generation. The ACL gave his 2000 paper a Test-of-Time Paper Award in 2025.
