Hsiang Hui Lek
Also known as Lek Hsiang Hui
Hsiang Hui Lek is a computing educator at the National University of Singapore who has published on sentiment analysis and text mining and teaches AI solutioning and generative AI. He published Sentix, an aspect and domain sensitive sentiment lexicon, at the IEEE Conference on Tools with Artificial Intelligence in 2012, earned a PhD in Information Systems from NUS in 2013, and coauthored a 2018 text-mining study of teamwork in student chat. NUS gave him its Annual Teaching Excellence Award for AY2015/16, AY2016/17 and AY2017/18, and he received the National Day Awards Commendation Medal in 2022. With Ooi Wei Tsang and Kate Sangwon Lee, he developed THE1008 Applied Generative AI: From Prompting to Evaluation, a course on large language models that all first-year NUS undergraduates take from AY2026/27. He is a Senior Lecturer and Assistant Dean, Industry Relations at the NUS School of Computing.
