Guoliang Xing

Guoliang Xing researches embedded AI for health applications. He earned degrees at Xi’an Jiao Tong University and Washington University, then held faculty posts at City University of Hong Kong and Michigan State University. In July 2024, he received HK$39.17 million for a five-year foundation-model project that proposes Koala for early diagnosis and intervention in aging-related degenerative diseases. ACM elected him a Fellow for 2024 for contributions to embedded AI and mobile computing systems, and in 2025 the University Grants Committee conferred on him the RGC Senior Research Fellow title. He is Professor and Chairman of CUHK’s Department of Information Engineering.
