Researcher

Mohan Manubhai Trivedi

Also known as Mohan M. Trivedi

Mohan Trivedi is an emeritus professor of electrical and computer engineering at UC San Diego, where his work spans vision systems, driver gaze and vehicle safety. He earned a bachelor's degree in electronics from the Pilani campus in 1974 and a PhD from Utah State University in 1979, then joined UC San Diego in 1995 after faculty posts at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and Louisiana State University. In 2011 a driving study in Trivedi's lab called for volunteers to help researchers understand typical driving behaviors, with the goal of developing intelligent technologies. The International Association for Pattern Recognition made him a fellow in 2010, and the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society gave him its 2013 Outstanding Research Award. In 2018 he co-authored an arXiv preprint on behavior modeling of driver gaze for maneuver prediction.
