Researcher

Koushil Sreenath

Sreenath earned a PhD in electrical engineering and computer science and a master’s in applied mathematics from Michigan in 2011. His research combines dynamic robotics with nonlinear control. Sreenath was a postdoctoral scholar at Pennsylvania’s GRASP Lab from 2011 to 2013 and an assistant professor at Carnegie Mellon from 2013 to 2017. Koushil Sreenath coauthored MuJoCo Playground. MuJoCo Playground is an open-source framework for simulation, policy training and transfer to physical robots. It combines MJX physics, a batch renderer and training environments. The team demonstrated tasks for quadrupeds, humanoids, hands and arms, including transfer from state and pixel observations. This is a shared software and research contribution. Koushil Sreenath and the MuJoCo Playground team received the RSS 2025 Outstanding Demo Paper Award.
