Alejandrina Cristia

Also known as Alex Cristia, Cristia Alejandrina

Alejandrina Cristia is a linguist whose studies of children's daylong recordings link language research to automated speech analysis. After a BA in letters at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, she earned a PhD in linguistics at Purdue University in 2009. A postdoctoral fellowship at the LSCP in Paris followed from 2009 to 2011, and the McDonnell Foundation gave her a Scholar Award in 2017. Her bronze medal in linguistics from CNRS came in 2020, and her ERC Consolidator grant for the ExELang project came in December 2020. ISCA, the International Speech Communication Association, named her a Fellow in 2025, and she is now a research director at CNRS who leads the ExELang project.
