Sebastian Bodenstein
Sebastian Bodenstein is a machine-learning research engineer at Google DeepMind whose work links neural-net software, protein structure prediction and plasma simulation. He earned a BSc in mathematics and physics and a PhD in theoretical physics at the University of Cape Town, then helped create Wolfram’s neural-net framework and repository. He coauthored DeepMind’s 2021 AlphaFold paper, contributed to Google DeepMind’s 2024 AlphaFold 3 release and contributed to Google DeepMind’s 2025 fusion research partnership. In 2026, workshop and conference programs list him for TORAX, language-model and biological-discovery sessions.
