Ashutosh Sharma
Ashutosh Sharma is a research engineer at IBM Research, where he develops Granite language models and leads infrastructure for agentic reinforcement learning. He earned an honors B.Tech in mechanical engineering at IIT Bombay, with minors in computer science and artificial intelligence, and an M.S. in computer science at UIUC. His papers introduced DSPy, a programming model for language-model pipelines; ANGEL, an enterprise search system for nonprofit funding matches; and IndicIRSuite, neural retrieval resources for 11 Indian languages. He coauthored a 2025 paper on multimodal image generation for breast cancer detection. During a 2024 Amazon internship, he fine-tuned language models for product matching and joined the 2025 Siebel Scholars class.
