Aditya Ramesh

Aditya Ramesh is an OpenAI researcher who introduced DALL·E, a text-to-image model, in January 2021. He co-authored Language Models are Few-Shot Learners, the GPT-3 paper, which NeurIPS named an Outstanding Paper in 2020. He co-created DALL·E 2 in 2022, and he was the lead researcher of the DALL·E team when DALL·E 3 was shown inside ChatGPT in 2023. He helped develop Sora, which OpenAI previewed in February 2024. As of October 2026, he is vice president of research at OpenAI and leads OpenAI Robotics, which grew out of the world-simulation research program.

    Introducing DALL·E

    He introduces DALL·E, a text-to-image model, to the world in January 2021.

  4. April 2022

    Co-creating DALL·E 2

    He is a co-creator of DALL·E 2, which OpenAI announces in April 2022.

  5. September 2023

    Demonstrating DALL·E 3

    In September 2023, he showcases the ChatGPT integration of DALL·E 3 as lead researcher of the DALL·E team.

  6. 2024

    Helping develop Sora

    He helps develop Sora, OpenAI's video-generation model, which OpenAI previews in February 2024.

  7. As of October 2026

    Vice president of research

    He is vice president of research at OpenAI and leads OpenAI Robotics, which grew out of the world-simulation research program.
