Charlie Brooker
Charlie Brooker is a television writer whose Black Mirror stories explore AI and other emerging technology through speculative drama. He left Westminster University without graduating, began in video-game journalism and TVGoHome satire, then moved into television criticism and screenwriting. Channel 4 commissioned Black Mirror in 2011; Brooker later won writing Emmys for “San Junipero” and “USS Callister,” and “Bandersnatch” won two Emmys in 2019. TIME placed him on its 2023 TIME100 AI list; he tested ChatGPT with a Black Mirror story outline in 2023. Netflix released Black Mirror’s seventh season in 2025 and announced his new crime series Blackmere in September 2026.
