Alan Robinson
Alan Robinson developed automated deduction, including the resolution inference rule and research on logic programming systems. Robinson published a paper on machine-oriented logic and the resolution principle in January 1965. Robinson was affiliated with Argonne and Rice. CADE recognized him for inventing the resolution inference rule. Robinson worked on integrating logic and functional programming through LogLisp and Vesper. He also founded and edited the Journal of Logic Programming.
