Edmund H. Durfee
Edmund H. Durfee’s work addresses coordination among intelligent agents. His research connects individual plans with the actions and constraints of other agents. He earned a UMass Amherst doctorate in 1987. The doctoral work developed an approach to coordinated planning in a network of distributed AI problem-solving systems. Durfee served on Michigan’s faculty from 1988 to 2021. His career includes research and institutional work in AI and robotics.
