Researcher

Michael N. Huhns

Michael Huhns studies how computational intelligence can be distributed and how autonomous systems can coordinate. Huhns received an electrical engineering doctorate from the University of Southern California in 1975. His research career later included distributed AI projects at the Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corporation. Huhns edited Distributed Artificial Intelligence, published in 1987. His research page places the volume within work on multi-agent communication and negotiation.

Timeline

  1. 1975

    Doctoral training

Huhns received an electrical engineering doctorate from the University of Southern California in 1975. His research career later included distributed AI projects at the Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corporation.

  2. 1987

    Distributed Artificial Intelligence

Huhns edited Distributed Artificial Intelligence, published in 1987. His research page places the volume within work on multi-agent communication and negotiation.

  3. 1999

    Social abstractions for agents

Huhns and Munindar P. Singh co-authored Social Abstractions for Information Agents in 1999. The shared chapter concerns computational social systems, a theme of his research on interactions among agents.

  4. 2005

    Service-Oriented Computing

Huhns and Singh co-authored Service-Oriented Computing: Semantics, Processes, Agents, published in 2005. The book links workflows, ontologies, and semantics with distributed services and agents.

  5. 2014

    Research recognition

AAAI elected Michael N. Huhns as a Fellow in 2014.
