Robert A. Kowalski

Robert A. Kowalski earned his Edinburgh doctorate in 1970, researched there until 1975, and moved to Imperial. He became professor of computational logic in 1982. Kowalski collaborated with Alain Colmerauer in Marseille in 1972. Kowalski contributed logical ideas. Colmerauer’s practical work led to the design and implementation of Prolog. His current research includes Logical English and an insurance-specific extension, InsurLE, for computable contract wording.
