Georg Langs
Also known as G Langs, G. Langs
Georg Langs is a researcher who applies machine learning to medical imaging and prediction of disease course. He completed a PhD in computer science at Graz University of Technology in 2007, worked at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory from 2009 to 2011, and joined the Medical University of Vienna in 2011. He co-founded contextflow in 2016 with Markus Holzer, René Donner and Allan Hanbury. In 2023, its ADVANCE Chest CT system offered computer-aided detection support for ILD, COPD and lung cancer; contextflow exited to 4DMedical in August 2026. Since May 2025, he leads MedUni Vienna's Comprehensive Center for AI in Medicine.
