Xingyi Zhang
Also known as 张兴义, Xing-Yi Zhang
Xingyi Zhang is a professor in the School of Computer Science and Technology at Anhui University, where his research includes evolutionary multi-objective optimization. He received a bachelor's degree from Fuyang Normal College in 2003, then a master's degree in 2006 and a doctorate in 2009 from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. In 2015, with Ye Tian and Yaochu Jin, he published a knee point driven evolutionary algorithm for many-objective optimization, and in 2017 Ye Tian, Ran Cheng, Xingyi Zhang, and Yaochu Jin introduced PlatEMO, a MATLAB platform with more than 50 multi-objective evolutionary algorithms. He received the IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation Outstanding Paper Award in 2018, 2021, and 2024, and the IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine Outstanding Paper Award in 2020. The IEEE Computational Intelligence Society named him to its Fellow class of 2025 for contributions to evolutionary multi-objective optimization.
