Andrew Yang
Also known as 楊安澤
Andrew Yang is an American entrepreneur and former presidential candidate who has spent years warning that automation and AI will displace workers. After a law degree from Columbia, he ran the test-prep company Manhattan Prep and founded the nonprofit fellowship Venture for America in 2011. His 2018 book The War on Normal People argued that artificial intelligence, robotics and automation software were making millions of livelihoods irrelevant, and his 2020 presidential campaign centered on a universal basic income of $1,000 a month. In 2021, he launched the Forward Party and told The 80,000 Hours Podcast that society underinvests in preparing for low-probability catastrophes. He is the CEO of Noble Mobile, a wireless carrier he launched in 2025, and in 2026 he warned that AI would cost millions of white-collar jobs and called for a tax on AI.
