Rohan Anil is a co-author of optimization papers and a contributor to two model reports. In January 2019 he co-wrote Memory-Efficient Adaptive Optimization, and in February 2020 he submitted Scalable Second Order Optimization for Deep Learning to arXiv. He was a core contributor to the PaLM 2 Technical Report in 2023 and was listed as text co-lead on the Gemini report. He left Anthropic in 2026 to join Core Automation, the lab Jerry Tworek co-founded, where he works.
