Maria Brbić
Also known as Maria Brbic
Maria Brbić studies AI for biology and biomedicine. Her lab develops methods intended to generalize across new biological datasets and settings. Brbić earned a doctorate at Zagreb in 2019. She conducted research at Stanford during her doctorate and later completed postdoctoral work with Jure Leskovec. She joined the EPFL faculty in 2022. Her research bridges AI, biology and biomedicine. Her lab published STELLAR on annotation of spatially resolved single-cell data in 2022 and SATURN on cell embeddings across species in 2024. These are joint research projects.
