Pedro Felzenszwalb
Also known as Pedro Felipe Felzenszwalb, Pedro F. Felzenszwalb
As of October 2026, Pedro Felzenszwalb is a professor at Brown University, where his main research interests include computer vision and machine learning. At Cornell, he began research in computer vision and artificial intelligence, and he earned a B.S. there in 1999. In 2004 he joined the University of Chicago as an assistant professor, and in 2011 he joined Brown as an associate professor. The 2014 Technical Achievement Award went to him for the deformable parts model, a method of detecting objects in images and video. He received the Longuet-Higgins Prize in 2010 and again in 2018, the second time for his 2008 paper on the deformable part model.
