Jae Kyoung Kim
Also known as Jaekyoung Kim, Kim Jae-kyoung, 김재경
Jae Kyoung Kim is a mathematician at KAIST who applies dynamical systems, scientific machine learning and AI to sleep and circadian biology. After a Michigan PhD and a postdoctoral fellowship at Ohio State's Mathematical Biosciences Institute, he joined KAIST's Department of Mathematical Sciences in 2015 and launched the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Group in 2021. His team released the SLEEPS sleep-disorder algorithm in 2023, and its personalized sleep guide reached Galaxy Watch 8 users in 2025. He received the Choi Seok-jeong Award in 2021 and an Innovation Award at KAIST Research Day in 2026. He is an associate professor of mathematical sciences at KAIST and Chief Investigator of the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Group.
