Alicia Troncoso Lora
Alicia Troncoso Lora's AI work spans electricity-price forecasting and a green machine-learning project for water and climate change. She earned a computer science PhD at the University of Seville in 2005 and coauthored a 2007 paper on weighted-nearest-neighbor forecasts for electricity prices. She held university vice-rector roles from 2009 to 2020, became president of Spain's AI association in 2021, and received the 2024 Aritmel award for AI research. As of October 2026, she is a full professor at Pablo de Olavide, directs its computer-science master's program, and leads the Data Science and Big Data Research Lab.
