Mati Staniszewski is a voice-AI builder who co-founded ElevenLabs. He grew up in Poland, moved to the UK to study mathematics at Imperial College London, and worked at Palantir before the company’s 2022 founding. ElevenLabs launched an AI speech platform in January 2023, added Dubbing Studio and other audio products in January 2024, and introduced its expressive Eleven v3 model in June 2025; TIME named him to its 2025 TIME100 AI Innovators list. As of October 2026, he is the company’s co-founder and CEO, and its voice models turn text into human-sounding speech.

    From Imperial to Palantir

    A long-form speech platform

    In January 2023, ElevenLabs launches a beta platform for creators and publishers to narrate long-form content with an in-house deep-learning speech synthesis model.

  4. January 2024

    New audio products

    In January 2024, ElevenLabs releases Dubbing Studio, its Voice Library marketplace, an early-preview Mobile Reader app, and speech models with improved speed and broader language coverage.

  5. June 2025

    Introducing Eleven v3

    In June 2025, he and Piotr Dabkowski introduce Eleven v3 (alpha), a text-to-speech preview with advanced audio tags, dialogue mode, and support for more than 70 languages.

  6. 2025

    TIME100 AI Innovator

    In 2025, TIME names him to its TIME100 AI list as an Innovator, one of 100 people recognized for influence in artificial intelligence.
