Qun Liu
Qun Liu contributes to computational language research, including Chinese analysis and machine translation. Liu and Shiwen Yu described TransEasy, a Chinese-English translation system using a reusable software platform. Their shared account combines rule-based processing with statistical heuristics for parsing. Liu co-authored Chinese Lexical Analysis Using Hierarchical Hidden Markov Model with Hua-Ping Zhang, Xue-Qi Cheng, Hao Zhang, and Hong-Kui Yu. The work appeared at the 2003 SIGHAN workshop on Chinese language processing.
