Armin B. Cremers

Armin B. Cremers is a mathematician and computer scientist who led artificial intelligence research at the University of Bonn. He earned a doctorate in mathematics at Karlsruhe, then served as an assistant professor at the University of Southern California from 1973 to 1976 and as a full professor of informatics at Dortmund from 1976 to 1990. In 1998 he co-authored a paper on a tour-guide robot that the team tested for six days at the Deutsches Museum Bonn, and AAAI listed that paper among its 2016 Classic Paper Award recipients. As of October 2026, he is an emeritus professor who holds an emeritus research group at B-IT, the center he helped found in 2001.
