Ravi Kumar S

Ravi Kumar S is chief executive of Cognizant, an information technology services and consulting company, and TIME named him to its TIME100 AI list in 2025 and again in 2026. He started as a nuclear scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center of India, then moved through PricewaterhouseCoopers, Cambridge Technology Partners, Oracle and Sapient. He served as president of Infosys from 2016 to 2022, then became Cognizant's CEO in January 2023. Under his leadership, Cognizant pledged $1 billion in 2023 to accelerate enterprise AI, and in December 2024 the U.S. Chamber of Commerce named him chair of its AI Working Group.

    From nuclear science to tech firms

    He starts as a nuclear scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center of India, then works at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Cambridge Technology Partners, Oracle and Sapient before 2016. His credentials include an MBA from Xavier Institute of Management, India.

    President of Infosys

    From 2016 to 2022 he serves as president of Infosys, running its global services organization and chairing the board of Infosys BPM.

    Becoming Cognizant's CEO

    He takes over as CEO of Cognizant in January 2023.

  4. 2023

    A $1 billion AI pledge

    Under his leadership, Cognizant pledges $1 billion in 2023 to accelerate enterprise AI.

  5. December 2024

    Chair of the Chamber's AI group

    In December 2024 the U.S. Chamber of Commerce names him chair of its AI Working Group, and he serves on its board of directors.

  6. August 2025

    A 2025 TIME100 AI listing

    In August 2025 TIME names him to its 2025 TIME100 AI list in the Leaders category.

  7. August 2026

    A second TIME100 AI listing

    In August 2026 Cognizant announces that TIME has named him to its 2026 TIME100 AI list for a second consecutive year.

    Chief executive of Cognizant

    At present he is chief executive of Cognizant, an information technology services and consulting company, and he has held the post since January 2023.
