Bruce Buchanan
Bruce Buchanan worked on expert systems and symbolic learning, with applications to scientific reasoning, biology and medicine. Buchanan authored Artificial Intelligence as an Experimental Science in a volume edited by James H. Fetzer. In the essay, Buchanan explains his approach to AI research. His interests include machine learning, knowledge-based systems and medical expert systems. B. Leng, Buchanan and H. B. Nicholas published a paper on predicting protein secondary structure with two-level case-based reasoning. His work also applies symbolic learning in biology and medicine.
