George H. John
Also known as G. John, G.H. John
George John is a computer scientist whose work connects machine-learning research with AI-driven advertising. At Stanford, he earned computer-science degrees, won an NSF fellowship, and worked on autonomous spacecraft at NASA. His research included MLC++, a 1997 data-mining thesis, and a wrapper for feature selection. Before cofounding Rocket Fuel in 2009, he led marketing-optimization teams; the company went public in 2013, and he and Richard Frankel received EY's 2014 award before he left as CEO in 2015. He joined Stanford as a visiting lecturer in 2017, and WorkFusion listed him among investors in its 2025 funding round for AI agents in financial-crime compliance.
