Sharon Gannot
Sharon Gannot is a professor of engineering at Bar-Ilan University whose work applies statistical signal processing, machine learning and deep learning to speech enhancement with single microphones and microphone arrays. He earned a B.Sc. at the Technion in 1986 and an M.Sc. and Ph.D. at Tel Aviv University in 1995 and 2000, then held a postdoctoral position at KU Leuven in 2001. In 2017 he co-authored a review of multi-microphone speech enhancement and source separation, chaired the IEEE Signal Processing Society's Audio and Acoustic Signal Processing technical committee from 2017 to 2018, and in 2018 co-edited the Wiley book Audio Source Separation and Speech Enhancement. IEEE elevated him to Fellow in 2021, EURASIP gave him its Group Technical Achievement Award in 2022, he was general co-chair of Interspeech 2024, and ISCA named him a Fellow in 2026. He is a Full Professor at Bar-Ilan's Faculty of Engineering, where he is Faculty Vice Dean and heads the Data Science Program.
