Alessio R. Lomuscio
Also known as Alessio Lomuscio
Alessio Lomuscio is a professor of safe artificial intelligence at Imperial College London, where he develops scalable verification methods and formal guarantees for machine learning models. His doctorate at the University of Birmingham, submitted in 1999, examined knowledge sharing among ideal agents. He co-authored H²V, a NeurIPS 2025 paper on validating geometric robustness in large image and video models. The Royal Academy of Engineering gave him a chair in emerging technologies in 2018, and the ACM named him a Distinguished Member in 2020. In 2025 he serves as chief technology officer of Safe Intelligence, an Imperial spinout that he launched in 2021.
