George van den Driessche
George van den Driessche co-wrote papers on game-playing AI and large language models, starting with AlphaGo in January 2016 and AlphaGo Zero in October 2017. He co-wrote the Gopher and RETRO papers in December 2021, and the Chinchilla paper in March 2022. NeurIPS named the Chinchilla paper an Outstanding Paper in 2022. He also co-wrote the Gemini reports of December 2023 and March 2024. In September 2025 he is credited with research on LIGO, a collaboration that includes Google DeepMind.
