Jilles Vreeken
Vreeken earned a Utrecht computer-science PhD in 2009 and Antwerp postdoctoral research from 2009 to 2013. His work studies theory and efficient methods for extracting insight from data. He led an independent group at Saarland’s MMCI cluster from 2013 to 2018 and joined CISPA’s faculty in 2018. He also held a partly overlapping research role at Max Planck. Vreeken studies information-theoretic approaches to interpreting data and models. His work also studies causal inference with hidden confounding, selection bias and dependent observations.
