Chih-Jen Lin
Chih-Jen Lin’s work connects machine learning with efficient numerical methods and software. LIBSVM and LIBLINEAR are two concrete parts of his work. Lin earned a doctorate at the University of Michigan in 1998 and began an assistant professorship at National Taiwan University in August that year. LIBSVM version 1.0 dates to April 2000. The shared software provides support vector machine methods for classification, regression, and distribution estimation.
