Gunilla Borgefors
Gunilla Borgefors is a computer-vision and image-analysis researcher whose work includes distance transforms and digital geometry. At Linköping University, she studied applied mathematics, completed a doctorate in numerical analysis at KTH, and led computer-vision research at FOA. She published “Distance Transformations in Digital Images” in 1986 and directed Uppsala's Centre for Image Analysis. Through IAPR, she served as secretary and first vice president, earned an IAPR Fellowship in 1998, and became an IEEE Fellow in 2008. As of October 2026, she is a visiting professor in the Image Analysis division of Uppsala University's Department of Information Technology.
