Shie Mannor
Also known as Shai Mannor
As of October 2026, Shie Mannor is a professor in electrical and computer engineering at the Technion and a Unit Director and Fellow at ELLIS. Machine learning, planning and control, and multi-agent systems make up his research interests. He earned a Technion doctorate in 2002 on reinforcement learning in competitive environments, with Nahum Shimkin as advisor. In 2018 he was set to head the new AI research center, and in 2022 he became an IEEE Fellow. His 2025 work includes RL-RC-DoT, a block-level RL agent for task-aware video compression.
