Massimo Poesio

Massimo Poesio is a professor of computational linguistics at Queen Mary. His teaching includes neural networks and natural language processing, linking computational methods with the study of language. Poesio studies anaphora, conceptual knowledge and disagreements in language annotation. The DALI project used games such as Phrase Detectives and TileAttack to collect interpretation judgments and develop models of anaphora resolution. ARCIDUCA studies conversational agents that interpret reference in dialogue. It proposes embedding agents in online games to obtain feedback and ask clarification questions, extending work on meaning variation and coreference.
