Siyu Tang
Siyu Tang is a computer vision researcher whose work helps machines perceive and model people. Her research included crowded-scene tracking and human pose, shape and motion, including the EgoBody dataset built from first-person views. She studied computer science at Zhejiang University, earned a media-informatics master’s at RWTH Aachen and a PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, then started a research group at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems before joining ETH Zurich in 2020. At ETH, she leads the Computer Vision and Learning Group and received a 2025 ERC Starting Grant for research on computer vision models of human movement and activity in three dimensions. As of October 2026, she is an associate professor of computer science at ETH Zurich.
