Weisi Lin

Also known as Lin Weisi

Weisi Lin is President's Chair Professor in Computer Science at the College of Computing and Data Science, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research on visual attention and quality evaluation sits within computer vision. He earned a BS and an MS at Zhongshan University and a PhD in computer vision at King's College London in 1993. In February 2007 he joined the faculty of Nanyang Technological University after serving as lab head for visual processing at the Institute for Infocomm Research. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers named him a Fellow in 2016, and Clarivate Analytics recognized him as a Highly Cited Researcher in each consecutive year since 2019.

    A PhD in computer vision

    He earns a BS in 1982 and an MS in 1985 at Zhongshan University, then a PhD in computer vision at King's College London in 1993.

    In 2005 he co-writes a paper, Modeling Visual Attention's Modulatory Aftereffects on Visual Sensitivity and Quality Evaluation, in IEEE Transactions on Image Processing.

    He joins the faculty of Nanyang Technological University in February 2007, after his time as lab head for visual processing at the Institute for Infocomm Research.
