Shutao Li

Also known as LI Shutao, Shu-Tao LI, Shu-Tao Li, 李树涛

Shutao Li is a researcher in image fusion whose work spans machine learning, computer vision and hyperspectral image recognition. He completed electrical-engineering studies at Hunan University and held research posts at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Royal Holloway in London. At Hunan, he served as vice president and dean of its School of Robotics, developed a theory of structured sparse image fusion, and proposed a method for hyperspectral image recognition. He received the IEEE GRSS Education Award in 2023 and was elected to the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2025. He is president of Chang’an University.
