Abiodun Musa Aibinu
Abiodun Musa Aibinu is a mechatronics researcher whose AI work includes neural networks for speech detection and deep learning for COVID-19 X-ray classification. He studied engineering in Nigeria and signal processing in Sweden and Malaysia, then taught at IIUM and led the Mechatronics Engineering department at FUT Minna. In 2012, he published a method based on neural networks for voice activity detection; in 2021, he coauthored work on deep learning hyperparameters for COVID-19 X-ray classification. He received the Nigerian Air Force Research and Development Award in 2017, worked in telecom before academia, and co-founded AI for Clean Energy Nigeria Limited by 2025. As of October 2026, he is Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Summit University, Offa, under an extension for one year that began in April 2026.
