Researcher

Vera Demberg

Vera Demberg studies language and interaction. Her group connects computational cognitive models, natural language generation and multimodal communication. From October 2014 to June 2022, her group worked on language-event sequences, information density and cognitive-control demands. These projects connect computational modeling to language comprehension. Her lab ran the ERC project Individualized Interaction in Discourse from February 2021 to January 2026. Her lab also works on adapting text generation to individual users. Demberg coauthored MIBURI with M. Hamza Mughal, Rishabh Dabral and Christian Theobalt. MIBURI received a workshop Best Paper Award and a CVPR Best Demo Award.
