Dipti Srinivasan
Dipti Srinivasan is an electrical engineer whose research applies AI to smart grids and renewable energy. She worked as a design engineer for the Rajasthan State Electricity Board in Jaipur from 1986 to 1989, earned a master's degree at NUS in 1991 and completed her PhD in 1994, then joined its faculty in 1995 after postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley. She served as visiting faculty at the Indian Institute of Science from 1998 to 1999 and received an Outstanding Engineer award in 2010 and the IEEE PES Wanda Reder Pioneer in Power Award in 2022. In November 2023, she was named co-lead of an NUS–Keppel project planned through 2026; her team's electric-bus optimization framework appeared in 2024. Since January 2024, she is NUS Provost's Chair Professor and director of GEMS; her coauthored SpinalNet paper received the IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence Outstanding Paper Award in 2026.
