Wolfgang Maass
Maass earned a mathematics doctorate in 1974 and completed his habilitation in 1978 at Munich. His later research brings theoretical computing methods to neural information processing. He was an associate professor at Illinois Chicago from 1982 to 1986 and a full professor there from 1986 to 1993. He also became a professor at Graz in 1991. Maass studies information processing in biological neural systems, neural networks, machine learning and computational complexity. These fields connect the limits of computation with models of learning.
