Researcher

Daoqiang Zhang

Also known as 张道强

Daoqiang Zhang researches machine learning and medical image analysis, with work on clustering, dimensionality reduction, and medical image segmentation. He earned computer science degrees at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and joined its Department of Computer Science and Engineering as a lecturer in 2004. His work includes a kernelised fuzzy C-means method for medical image segmentation and a semi-supervised dimensionality reduction method. IAPR named him a Fellow in 2020 for contributions to fuzzy clustering, dimensionality reduction, and medical image analysis. As of October 2026, he is a professor and dean of NUAA's School of Artificial Intelligence and directs its Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Brain-Machine Intelligence Technology.
