Bingyue Peng

Bingyue Peng is an AI researcher whose work spans advertising systems and generative models for images, video and animation. He earned industrial-engineering degrees at Beihang and Purdue, interned at Microsoft Research Asia, and joined Meta's advertising department in 2014. His 2024 papers explored next-scale and next-token image generation, and Visual Autoregressive Modeling received a NeurIPS Best Paper award. He coauthored Infinity and Goku in 2025, HLLM-Creator in 2025 and InfinityHuman in 2026; from July 2023 to July 2026, he led ByteDance's commercialization GenAI department.

    Engineering degrees and internship

    He earns an industrial-engineering bachelor's degree at Beihang University in 2011, interns at Microsoft Research Asia during his undergraduate studies, and earns a master's degree in industrial engineering at Purdue in 2011–2012.

    LlamaGen for image generation

    In June 2024, he coauthors LlamaGen, a family of image-generation models that applies large-language-model next-token prediction to visual generation.

    Infinity and Goku

    In 2025, he coauthors Infinity, a bitwise autoregressive model for high-resolution image synthesis, and Goku, a rectified-flow Transformer family for joint image and video generation.

    Personalized creative generation

    In August 2025, he coauthors HLLM-Creator, a hierarchical language-model framework for personalized content generation.

  7. 2026

    Long-duration human animation

    In 2026, he coauthors InfinityHuman, a coarse-to-fine framework that builds high-resolution, long-duration videos from audio-synchronized representations.

  8. July 2023–July 2026

    Leading commercial GenAI

    In July 2023, he joins ByteDance as head of its commercialization GenAI department, leading algorithm research, machine learning, engineering and product teams. He leaves ByteDance in July 2026.
